Beloved sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the age of 87 years.
Joan grew up in Saginaw, MI and graduated from Arthur Hill High School. She then attended Saginaw General Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse and later attended Michigan State University on scholarship to gain a bachelor's degree in nursing to teach nursing to aspiring students. Joan then went on to become assistant head of nursing at Saginaw General Hospital, now Covenant Healthcare. She then went to Central Michigan Hospital in Mt. Pleasant working as head of nursing until her retirement. After her retirement, she volunteered with the commission of aging. Joan was truly a giver of both her time and her talents, donating jackets to those in need, supporting diaper pantries, knitting hats and gloves for many. Joan was a member of the Zonta club both in Saginaw and Mt. Pleasant and loved to travel and go shopping. Joan loved seeing the world and experiencing other cultures.
Surviving are her sister Dawn Catenac, nephew Kevin Brown, her faithful companion Bolt, and his best friend Cooper. She was predeceased by her parents Floyd and Nada Crampton.
