It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Joan Marie Valeriani, who left us on November 27th, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family in her final days. She was a kind and caring woman, whose most treasured moments were those spent with family and friends.
Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Harry Lee and Gladys (Webber) Mushroe. She was born in Southbridge, MA, graduated from Bates College and worked as a registered nurse in Boston until she married her beloved husband, the late John A. Valeriani. She later returned to nursing at New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham.
John and Joan lovingly raised their family in Medford. Joan was the devoted mother of Mary Luongo, John Valeriani and his wife Sharon, James Valeriani and his wife Michelle, and Gail Schultz and her husband Erik. She was the loving Gramma of Michael and his wife Nicole, Stephanie, Johnny and his wife Tiffany, John, Nicole, Danny and his wife Sumner, Joey, Jessica, Anthony, Julie and Alexis, and the Great Gramma of Nora, Timmy and Damon. Joan was the dear sister of the late Richard Lee Mushroe. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Joan's family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, December 4th, from 10 A.M. to Noon with a service conducted in the funeral home at Noon. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joan's name to Alzheimer's Association, 320 Nevada St., #201, Newton, MA 02460 or https://www.alz.org/manh
