Joan Widing passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 20, 1947, in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, Joan lived a life marked by quiet strength, creativity, and deep care for those around her.
Throughout her career, Joan worked both in banking at Heritage Bank and retail, including time at Joann Fabrics, where her love of crafting found a natural home. Whether through sewing, knitting, or other creative outlets, Joan expressed her thoughtfulness and patience in every project she took on. She especially loved spending time at the beach, where she found peace and joy in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Philomena (nee Walsh) Ford, and Paul Ford, and her brothers James Ford and Paul Ford. She leaves behind her cherished nieces and nephews: Erin Udowiczyk, Caitlin Ford, James Ford, and William Ford, who will remember her fondly for her kindness, creativity, and unwavering love.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
There will be a viewing from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr.
