MARQUETTE, MI – Joann Bressette, age 74, passed away on May 6, 2025, at UP Health Systems Marquette
Born on January 20, 1951, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, to Arnold and Virginia (Reed) Rupiper, Joann was a longtime resident of Marquette. She worked at Norlite Nursing Center, retiring after more than 20+ years of dedicated service. Joann loved working with people and was known for her strong work ethic.
Joann loved spending time with family and friends,grandkids and great grandkids, it was what she loved to do.Joann had a lifelong passion for animals, particularly horses, which she enjoyed training in her younger years.She was a devoted mother and homemaker.Joann was a proud member of the Red Hats Society,along with being a dedicated volunteer with the V.A Administration for a number of years.
Joann is survived by her four children: Tina Maki of Marquette, Ducky(GiGi) Maki of Marquette, Tanya Maki of Wisconsin, and Dan MacNeil of Nevada; grandchildren, Eric Romero, Jesica Romero, John Romero, Cheyanne Maki, Brendan Everson,Kurt Maki, Shawn Maki; Great-grandchildren, Bentley, Leanna, Xander, Elizabeth, Maverick, Aliza, Kaiden, Mason, Dreux, Liam, and Owen; siblings, Sharon (Reggie) Hermes, Colleen Rupiper, Fran Mattson, Michael (Wendy)Rupiper, Roger Rupiper, Collin (Sandra) Rupiper, Delores (Steve) Veldman, Lisa (Tom) Vanderra, Tony Rupiper, Gail (Clyde) Collins, Andrea (Mark) Theunis and a sister in law Barb Rupiper along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Joann was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Bressette Sr.; daughter Amber Bressette; and brother, Joe Rupiper.
Honoring Joann's wishes, private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to UPAWS or the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Activities Fund.
