Laura Goschy Clement, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at her home under the care of her loving husband, James Clement and UP Home Health and Hospice, at the age of 65.

Born on February 22, 1960, in Phelps, Wisconsin, to Francis and Mary Ann (Mondry) Goschy. Laura was a beacon of strength and compassion in her family and community.

Laura was a graduate of St. Bernard's High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, class of 1978. She pursued her passion for nursing at Mounds Midway School of Nursing and later earned a Bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University. Her dedication to caring for others was evident in her 27-year tenure as a nurse at the former Marquette General Hospital, where she retired in 2015.

Laura served her country with distinction in both the Army and the Army National Guard for 10 years, and in the US Air Force for an additional 3 years, achieving the rank of Captain. She was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

Laura's love for life was contagious. She enjoyed traveling and crafting, cooking and baking, hobbies that allowed her to express her creativity and connect with loved ones. Her warmth and generous spirit touched all who knew her. She was exceptionally intelligent and had a wealth of knowledge about world history, politics and current events.

Laura is survived by her devoted husband, James Clement of Marquette, MI; her cherished children, Anna Clement of Laurium, MI, and Gabriel Clement of Marquette, MI; and her adored granddaughter, Sophie Mattila. She also leaves behind her loving siblings, Michele Goschy of St. Paul, MN, Marie (Rich) Straka of Lake Elmo, MN, Denise (Curt) Pribnow of Niswa, MN, and Kristopher (Debbie) Goschy of Eagle Lake, MN, along with several nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Augustine Clement.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 10 am to 11 am at St. Michael Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am, officiated by Rev. Jose Cherian. A luncheon will be served in the church hall, and Laura will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided.

Laura's legacy of kindness, service, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
