JoAnn Church, 86, of Collinston, Louisiana, passed away on April 1, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana at Ridgecrest Nursing Home.
The visitation will be held at Carter Cemetery in Collinston, Louisiana on April 5, 2024, at 1 pm. The memorial service and burial will follow the visitation at 2 pm, with Brother Bill Fowler and Brother Tim Sharplin officiating. Golden Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements.
JoAnn was born in Monroe, Louisiana to Bama Lee and Robert Lee Gregory on
April 17, 1937. She went to high school at Collinston High School. She later went on to earn a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked as an LPN for Morehouse General Hospital and various area nursing homes until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and bingo, crocheting, and researching genealogy.
JoAnn is survived by her husband of 70 years, Carl Church; daughter, Carla Rainwater; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Church; granddaughter, Heather Craig and
husband Jason; grandson, Cliff Rainwater and wife Kristy; grandson, Clay
Church and wife Kathryn; granddaughter, Kimberly McDaniel and fiancé Greg
Alley; great-grandchildren, Anna Craig, AJ Craig, Aidan Rainwater, Abby
Rainwater, McKinley Cook, and husband Trenton, Tristan Church, and wife
Scarlett, Katie Lewis, Caroline Church, Abby Church, Halen McDaniel, Ace
McDaniel, Luke Alley, Lexi Alley, Carter Church, and Micah Church; great-
great-grandchildren, MaryMac Church, and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces,
and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bama Lee and Robert Lee
Gregory; son-in-law, Sidney Rainwater; son, Greg Church; grandsons, Darrell and
Nathaniel Church.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Ridgecrest Nursing Home and
Allegiance Hospice Care.
Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in
paradise."
