Joann Curtis, born May 2, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, & passed away Tuesday January 7, 2025 in Chesterfield, Missouri. Preceded in death by her parents: Jessie Niswonger and Elenor Lorey, brothers Bill and Jessie Jr. She is survived by her husband, Arlo Curtis and sons Alan (Jackie) and Andrew (Kate).
Joann graduated from Jackson, MO, high school in 1958. After her training at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Il, she earned a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1961. In the 60’s she was employed in the chest surgery operating room at Barns Hospital. She worked for several hospitals and retired from Bethesda Eye Institute.
She liked caring for her pets, gardening, biking, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. She enjoyed traveling and biking.
A visitation will take place from 1:00 - 2:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm all on March 22nd at Newcomer Funeral Home in Chesterfield, MO.
