JOANN HODGES COMEAU BOHN TAYLOR
October 25, 1934 - November 02, 2025
After life filled with a special loving family, great friends and many wonderful &
fun adventures our mother passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father On November 02, 2025.
Joann danced into the world on October 25, 1934 in Preston, Idaho to Golden & Ethelyn Orvin Hodges. She was welcomed by two older brothers Bonnie & Jere Dale Hodges & later found an adopted sister Virginia Harris.
She was reared and educated in Richmond, Utah. Graduating from North Cache High School in1952, where she was excited to be chosen as Queen of the Harvest Ball. She never stopped dancing.
She met Airman Phillip Comeau dancing at Hill Air Force NCO Club. He joined the LDS Church and they were married Jan 20th, 1954 in the LDS Mission Home in Cambridge Mass. They were the parents of three sons Mickey, Robert and John Comeau. They were divorced in 1966. In 1968 she met Howard Bohn father of three children Julie, Scott & Laurie at a church singles dance and they were married Aug 27th, 1969. They raised their six children together. The marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple on
Feb. 22nd, 1975. Sadly he passed away with cancer on April 13th, 1976. In 1978 while attending a dance at the Terrace Ballroom in Salt Lake City she met a very handsome man named Delbert Taylor father of 5 children Jeanine, Brent, Kathleen, David & Darin. They danced into each others arms and never looked
away. They were married on May 23rd, 1980. He passed away with Alzheimer's disease Jan 3rd 2013. They shared thirty three wonderful years together.
She was a active member of the 5th ward in the Burch Creek Stake. She enjoyed many Ward and stake callings during the years. In 2019 she moved into the Harrison Regent Retirement Home and loved meeting and making new friends there.
In 2001 she and Dell served nine years as part-time service missionaries as hostess in the both the Joseph Smith Building and in the new completed Conference Center on Temple Square which was during the 2002 Olympics. They served as Chairman and in charge of their Shift in Conference Center. She had a strong testimony and loved taking guests on tours and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with people from all around the world.
Joann loved Genealogy & writing family histories and was a dedicated journalist, writer of many volumes; each volume was an expression of profound love for family, friends and for the gospel. She wrote often of her love of her family, her concern for their well-being and her gratitude for their love & support.
She retired after working 32 years at the Utah State Employment Office later called Job Service. In the 1960's Utah was chosen by the U.S. Dept of Labor to develop a computerized job matching system. Joann was chosen as the first computer operator to demonstrate this program on television at Hotel Utah for Governor Rampton and many state and federal government representatives. They sent her to the international Job Service Convention held in Los Angeles Calif to demonstrate the Utah Job Matching System to all other Job Service representatives across the nation.
Her greatest joy came when she spent time with her large family and all the family traditions like birthdays, Easter egg hunt & patio parties in the large back yard. Christmas parties with Mr. and Mrs. Santa and plenty of food & gifts. Boating on Pine View Dam & most of all the family enjoyed staying in the Condo.
She enjoyed dancing and performing with her husband Dell and six dear friends called the Foxy Trotters in floor-shows around the valley. They also loved dancing at the Senior Center's. She is now back waltzing across Heaven
She is survived by three sons- Mickey, Robert (Lisa) and John Comeau. Seven grandchildren Trent (Comeau) Rounkles, Nusa (Comeau) Coleman, Bobbi Comeau Flinders, Nicki Comeau Barnes, Brandon Comeau, Brittney Comeau, Landon Comeau. 5 great-grandchildren, Jake Rounkles, Cooper, Drew
& Logan Flinders & Mason Barnes. Also many step- children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Sister Virginia Harris & sister in-law Donna Fae Hodges.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Brother and Wife Richard (Bonnie) & LuJean Hodges, Jere Dale Hodges, Brother in-law Bob Harris & Wife Virginia, husband's Delbert Taylor & Howard Bohn, step daughter Julie Bohn.
