Joann Klafehn Obituary

As a younger woman, Joann started her work life at Duffy Mott Company in Hamlin, NY, and also worked at Chemical Bank for decades doing clerical work. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hilton NY, active in the Adella Society, and helped to serve the church in many ways. Joann enjoyed traveling, camping, and playing games (especially Euchre and Pinochle), and she shared those loves with her children and grandchildren.
Joann was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved investing in her family by watching their concerts, sporting events, and just being available to them and sharing herself. Joann is survived by her children: Brian Klafehn (Erika Pfeiffer) of Fairport, NY; Delores Baxter (Charles) of Greece, NY; and Catherine Dean (Bill) of Valparaiso, IN; grandchildren/great-grandchildren: Anastasia Pfeiffer; Emily (Matthew) Graupman /Jackson, Eli; Erin (Ryan) Borcyk / Michael, John, Charles; Eileen (Nathan) Kadar / Sophie, Jordan; Rebecca (Nathan) Baggett / Micah, Aiden; and Rachel Dean.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 158 East Ave. Hilton, NY, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Ann's Home at St. Ann's Community, 1500 Portland Ave, Rochester, NY 14621 or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 158 East Avenue, Hilton, NY 14468. My memories of "Alice" are of a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an example to me of a generous and joyful woman who loved the Lord. My deepest condolences to all her family and prayers for peace of mind in knowing she is at home with "Fred" now.
