Jodi Marsh (JoAnn Addeene Miller), 88, passed away on April 27, 2024 at her home in Warr Acres, Oklahoma. She was born May 12, 1935 to James Miller and Florence (Hassler) Miller in Kansas City, Missouri. Her given birth-name was Joan Addeene Miller (Joan was always pronounced JoAnn.) Her father, James, gave her the nickname "Jodi" and she has been known as Jodi most of her life.
Jodi married Alvin Platt in 1953 after his graduation from the Naval Academy. Together they had 3 lovely daughters before divorcing in 1974. Jodi was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Jodi studied Early Childhood Development in college and taught preschool as well as being a Preschool Director. In her earlier years, Jodi enjoyed playing the piano, ukulele, and guitar, swimming, biking, fishing and sailing. She always liked to cook, garden, read, pray, attend church and Bible studies, and spend time with family and friends. Then, in her later life she added politics, news, and weather watching to her activities.
In her retirement years Jodi remained active in her church and community. She was a member of Cherokee Hills Christian Church in Oklahoma City. She enjoyed singing at church and around her house. She sang in her church choir for many years and could always be heard singing with exuberance.
Jodi enjoyed loving the people around her and sharing her faith in Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She wanted to be known for how greatly she loved. She easily made new friends wherever she went. She was active in the Chickasaw Elder community, and was proud of her Chickasaw heritage from her father.
Jodi was preceded in death by her parents; and her 2 younger sisters, Janis Miller and Jean Miller. She is survived by her youngest sister, Juanita Miller; 3 daughters, Lenee Duke, Sandra Foley and Patricia Rust; 5 grandchildren, Scott McCurry, Alycia McCurry, Daniel Foley, Conor Foley and Marvel Rust; 5 great-grandchildren, Rogahn Saragusa, Jonas Saragusa, Jenifer McCurry, Matthew McCurry and Avery McCurry-Foley; and many nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Jodi will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Jodi and I go way back...I was living in Santa Maria, CA when we met through Mary Kay and a mutual friend. Throughout the course of 40 years, she was a friend, mentor, confidant, and a second mom to me. We would chat for hours, pray with each other and share the Lord´s doings in our lives. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her!
