JoAnn McLoughlin Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 19, 2025.
JoAnn, 79, beloved wife, mother, IBM'er, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully in The Villages, FL, where she and her husband, James of 59 years, had retired. She was surrounded by her loving family on August 17, 2025.

Born into an Italian-American family to Filomena "Mamie" Pizzarello Cicerello and Michael Cicerello Jr. in Port Chester, NY. She is predeceased by her parents and sisters Jacqueline Lucas and Rose Marie Cicerello.

JoAnn married her high school sweetheart and embarked on a successful career at IBM. After raising their children, JoAnn sought a new challenge. Inspired by her Italian heritage and love for cheese, she opened a cheese shop in Westchester County, long before artisanal cheese became a household trend. JoAnn took great pride in the details, mastering calligraphy and bow-making to adorn her handmade labels and beautifully wrapped gift baskets. Years later JoAnn returned to IBM and finished her career as a programmer.

Throughout her life, JoAnn exemplified patience, resilience, organization and an unwavering drive to turn challenges into opportunities. During her retirement she loved playing golf and dining with friends and family.

JoAnn's legacy lives on through her devoted husband, James, and their children, Robin and Ryan McLoughlin, son-in-law Sean, her nephew and nieces and cherished friends. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of her family, friends and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity and creativity.

"Our brave mom will always be a driving force and a positive role model for our entire family and anyone lucky enough to have known her." -Robin and Ryan
