JoAnn O'Sullivan, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon. Private graveside services will be held. Burial: Shueyville Cemetery.
JoAnn is survived by a son, James (Joy) O'Sullivan, of Cedar Rapids, daughter, Julie (Brett) Burgett, of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren, Jill Kunz, Jenny Hudson, Brennan, Dalton and Rebecca Burgett, Brittny Rentie, Emily Atkinson, Sean and Mandy O'Sullivan, along with 21 great-grandchildren.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie and son, John.
JoAnn (Hergenroeder) O'Sullivan was born on March 19, 1939 in Chicago Illinois to Edgar and Mildred Hergenroeder. She married Jimmie O'Sullivan on November 14,1959 in Summit, Illinois. She was a member of the Cedar Rapids Horseman's Club. She was involved with showing Quarter horses including barrel racing with her horse Ruby and Goldie. She enjoyed spending time riding her horses. She loved her dogs and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mom loved her time of living in Las Vegas and playing the slots. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
