JoAnn Rios

JoAnn Rios, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on January 23, 1977, in Pearsall, Texas.

Her legacy extends through her children: Francisco Ortiz and his wife Marissa, Bianca Alvarenga, Yahida Guzman, Yazmine Guzman, Juan Cardenas, Myda Martinez, Jose Victor Martinez, and Jose Pepito Guzman. To them, JoAnn was a source of inspiration, guidance, and unconditional love. JoAnn also reveled in the joy and vitality brought by her numerous grandchildren, who enriched her life with their laughter and presence.

JoAnn is survived by her devoted mother, Martina Cabrera, whose unwavering support and love shaped much of JoAnn’s strength and compassion. She was a treasured sister to Ernestine Benavides, Rebecca Benavides (Abraham), Frances Caldera and her husband Miguel, Jo Anthony Ortiz, Lenora Ortiz and her husband Diego, as well as Claribel Ramos and her husband Agapito. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories and mutual affection that will continue to sustain them in their time of loss.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Torres Ortiz, and her sister, Vickie Ann Benavidez. Their memory remains a precious part of her story, held tenderly in the hearts of those who knew them.
