JoAnn Smith died unexpectedly Tuesday May 17, 2022. She was born December 4, 1952 to her loving parents Jimmy and Mary Jergins in St George Utah. She had 3 sisters, Barbara (Glen), Karen (Lydell) and Lori (Thayne) and 1 brother Billy (Abby). She was married to Scott Smith November 13, 1975 in St George, Utah. They had 4 children, Jeff (Callie), Mike, Mandy and Melissa (TJ) they raised in West Valley City, Utah. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Megan, Mary, Adam, William and Lily. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Mike.
She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She loved get togethers with her family and friends. Especially picnics in the mountains. She was the most compassionate and selfless wife, mother and grandmother. Always giving with no thought for herself. She was loved by all and will be missed.
A viewing will be held Monday, May 23, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Kearns 5th Ward chapel, 4260 W 5215 S. with a viewing prior to services from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Taylorsville Cemetery.
