JoAnn G. Sparano, 66, of Ewing, NJ, passed away at home on May 26, 2024. JoAnn was born in Newark, NJ, on March 19, 1958, to Walter P. and Margaret H. Schenck. JoAnn grew up in Middlesex, NJ, before moving to Ewing in 1984.
JoAnn's delight in the simplest of pleasures was infectious to those who loved her and brightened the world around her. She loved animals and the beach and enjoyed many happy summer vacations to Long Beach Island. She worked for many years at New Jersey Urology in Lawrenceville, NJ (formerly Lawrenceville Urology), where she took pride in assisting patients and counted her co-workers among her closest friends. But by far her most treasured accomplishment was being a mother, and her greatest joys were her two cherished daughters and her dogs.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter (Skip) Schenck; her sister, June Schenck; and her niece, Nancy Taylor. She is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Jim Sparano; her daughter, Lauren Sparano; her daughter, Jamie Sparano, and son-in-law, Nathan Wilson; her sister, Linda Taylor; and many beloved friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
JoAnn will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Friends and relatives are invited to gather for a celebration of JoAnn's life on June 29, 2024, between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the Blooming Grove Inn in Ewing, NJ. Donations in JoAnn's memory may be made to the EASEL Animal Rescue League (https://www.easelnj.org).

My dear cousin Jo, I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. We grew up together, had alot of the same friends, and enjoyed a wonderful childhood full of fun family times and many camping trips, so many great memories that we would talk about every time we spoke. You were a huge part of my childhood. We were bridesmaids in each other's weddings. In the summers we'd go to the town pool together and to the shore. You raised two beautiful girls and mine and Rich's hearts are hurting for Jim, Jamie and Lauren, I know they will be strong because you always were.

JoAnn and I grew up next door to each other, and like her brother Skip, she was always joyful and ready with a warm greeting for me that made my day. She was glamorous and beautiful but never conceited, and her mischievous side was always present but never unkind. Our family camping vacations and picnics are treasured memories. It was so heartwarming to watch her marry a fine husband and to raise such a wonderful pair of accomplished, caring and lovely daughters, and keep her mom close by in her later years. She enriched the lives of those she touched, and that love and kindness will live on in us all. I will miss her terribly, but will also always cherish her memory and be grateful to her for being who she was and making me feel worthy to be someone she loved back. She will always have our love. I have many wonderful memories of JoAnn. JoAnn and I grew up together. We would go ice skating on weekends at a local ice rink, shopping at the malls, and just simply hung out, as most teen girls do. We were more then cousins, we were friends. As adults, raising our families and distance eventually separated us. I treasure these memories and realize how fortunate I was to have such a wonderful cousin and friend. Susan Schwarz

Jim and Lauren I can´t express how sad we are for your loss. We will always remember the fun times we had traveling all over for soccer games and tournaments. Forever in our hearts.
