JoAnn Terpstra

JoAnn (Door) Terpstra, age 78, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 18, 2025. She was a long-time organist, pianist, Sunday School teacher and was the Wednesday night CBC meals planner. She enjoyed reading, growing orchids, and bird watching. She worked as a housekeeper for many years, helping numerous families. JoAnn is preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis Door, and Duane Door. Lovingly remembering JoAnn is her husband of 58 years, Duane; daughters, Tricia (Russ) Radford, Tracey (Scott) Helmholdt; grandchildren, Heather Radford, Cassidy (Andrew) Eckhart, Carter Radford, Ty Helmholdt, Trevor Helmholdt, Jameson Helmholdt; great-granddaughter, Cora; brothers and sisters, Donna Ringewold, Linda (Del) Meyer, Bonnie (Keith) Vrieswyk, Jack (Sharon) Door, Sandy (George) Sorenson, Pat (Dan) Andrakowicz; sisters-in-law, Diane Koster, Judy Terpstra, Gina (Randy) Evers; many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 23, at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 76th St. SW, Byron Center, 49315, with Pastor John Lowder, Pastor Cameron Townley and Pastor Steve Sherman officiating. Interment will be in Dorr Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gun Lake Chapel, Rush Creek Bible Church, or South Christian High School.
