Mrs. JoAnn Peavy Wingard, 80, of Adairsville, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while she was surrounded by her loving family on February 4, 2025. JoAnn was born in McKenzie, Alabama on February 27, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Curtis and Audrey Peavy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Francis Peavy and her brother DeWayne Peavy. Prior to her retirement, she was the customer service manager for Master Lock. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Calhoun.
JoAnn was a wife who dearly loved her husband of 54 years, prior to his passing in 2020. She was a firm but loving mom to her 3 sons. She loved family and what it stood for and always welcomed people into their home over the years. It has been described, JoAnn was the glue that kept the family together in good times and bad. She taught her sons to always be willing and to offer help to those in need. She taught this not only by words but by her actions.
Survivors include her three sons; Christopher (Sabrina)Wingard, Thomas (Wendy) Wingard and Paul Kevin (Melissa) Wingard, her sister; Judy Peavy Odom, herbrother; Tony Peavy, grandchildren; Courtney Wingard, David Wingard, Carl Wingard, Morgan Wingard, Joseph Wingard, Kaylan Wingard, Sadie Wingard, Levi Wingard, Charlie Wingard, Nathan Wingard, Gavin Wingard, Morgan Evans Rogers (Christian), Sarah Evans, Will Evans and Christian Wingard. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A service to celebrate the life of JoAnn Peavy Wingard will be held on her birthday Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 6:00 PM from Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Adair officiating. On Thursday, February 27, 2025, JoAnn will join her beloved husband at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at 9:30 AM. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM until the service hour of 6:00 PM and one hour following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in JoAnnsmemory to The Blewer Memorial Food Bank, 373 Morrow Road SE, Calhoun, Georgia 30701 and/or Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Flower deliveries will be received after 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1170 Rome Rd SW, Calhoun, GA. 30701. Online condolences may be expressed and the guest book signed at www.maxbrannonandsons.com. The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of JoAnn Peavy Wingard.
