Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jobe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.-Plum Chapel - Monroeville on Dec. 20, 2025.
Joanna D. Eirhart (June 30, 1928 – December 19, 2025) affectionately known as "Doll" to her beloved "Dude," who preceded her in death in 2013 after 63 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Also known as Mummy, Gramma, Gigi, Aunt Joanna, Jo, and Jojo, she was 97 when she passed away.
Born on June 30, 1928, Joanna was born and raised in
Forest Hills, Pennsylvania, and proudly made her home in Penn Hills for 75 years. A true pillar of her community and family, Joanna's life was defined by warmth, generosity, and steadfast devotion. She was the ultimate lady, always put together, always charming, always comforting, and always with a great sense of humor.
Joanna started her working days at Westinghouse, and then moved as a supervisor at JC Penney's in the cash room, where she often helped out in Customer Service and perfected her gift wrap skills! After she left JC Penney's, she had a decorated career as a bank teller with Pittsburgh National for 37 years, where she was known for her precision, kindness, and an unshakeable commitment to doing right by every customer who approached her window. Her community service is also remembered: her many years volunteering at Animal Friends and the Penn Hills Senior Center with Dude, and as a long-time voting poll worker at Hebron Church. Beyond her community service and professional excellence, she was an amazing cook whose dishes brought comfort and celebration to every gathering. As a beloved Pokeno hostess, Jo cultivated connection and laughter, welcoming friends and neighbors to evenings filled with cards, conversation, and homemade treats. She also loved her lunches with the Pittsburgh National retirees and playing cards all afternoon with friends. Her love of animals, birds, and her garden can also not be forgotten.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, Joanna's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Rich) of Irwin, PA and Barbara (Ken) of Bonita Springs, FL; her brother, Robert Quaglia (Alfie) of Harrison City, PA; her granddaughter, Beth (Keith) of South Riding, VA, Todd Reutzel (Maureen) of Austintown, OH, Michael Reutzel (Linda) of San Marcos, TX, and Eric Reutzel (Mary Francis) of Cranberry, PA; eight cherished great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Her brother Victor Quaglia (Margaret) predeceased her. She also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family and friends who will remember her open kitchen, her contagious laugh, and the steady love she offered so freely.
Joanna's legacy lives on in the traditions she created, the recipes she perfected, and the countless moments of generosity and grace she shared. Her family takes comfort knowing that her spirit remains in every dinner, every family gathering, every card game and retiree luncheon, and every act of kindness.
