Ronald Alfred Holt
Age 82 of Gilpin Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was the beloved husband to his high school sweetheart, Marlene Eva (Revie) Holt, who passed away in October of 2025. Loving father of Renee Hileman. Proud grandfather of Scott (Deanna) Milicki, Ashley (Joe) Clark, and Kelsey (Patrick) Farabaugh; and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Carol (Russell) Pees; brother, Tom (Cindy) Holt; nephew, Tom Holt; and niece, Shelley Holt. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Agnes Grace (Trax) Holt; and his son, David Ronald Holt.
Ron earned his Master's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, marking the beginning of a distinguished career. His expertise and dedication led him to Alcoa, where he dedicated many years of exceptional service until his retirement. Ron was more than an employee; he was a pioneer in the field, sharing his knowledge and leaving a legacy of innovation that would benefit the industry for years to come.
In the chapter that followed his illustrious career at Alcoa, Ron channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into the community, owning and operating the beloved Rivertown Pub in Leechburg for two decades. There, he wasn't just a proprietor but a friend, a confidant, and an integral part of the town.
Ron's enthusiasm for life extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He was a passionate snow skier, serving as ski patrol and promoter of ski safety at both Seven Springs and Hidden Valley resorts. Winter was never a time of hibernation for Ron; instead, it was a season filled with exhilaration and the joy of gliding down the slopes.
When the snow melted and the summer sun beamed, Ron swapped his skis for water slalom skis, gracefully slicing through the waters with the same proficiency and love he exhibited on the snowy vistas. His balance and agility were things of wonder and inspiration to all who watched him navigate the waves.
Ron's love for adrenaline-pumping activities didn't end with the changing seasons. He had an enduring affection for his Harley motorcycles and his collection of sports cars, which he enjoyed well into his 80s. His sense of freedom and adventure echoed in the roar of engines, and his smile was brightest when behind the wheel or handlebars, feeling the rush of the open road.
