Susan Neal Holt

Susan Neal Holt, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 81. Born Susan Neal Hullett on August 27, 1944, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Joseph Neal Hullett and Nancy Hullett, she went on to live a life defined by her love for her family.

Susan's fondest memories of childhood were rooted in Charleston, West Virginia, where she spent her adolescent years in what she remembered as an idyllic time - playing make-believe/dress-up inside and games outside with friends. Those carefree days seemed to shape the kind of mother and grandmother she would one day become.

She made her home in Louisville, Kentucky, where she and her beloved husband of 58 years, Albert Randolph Holt, built their life and raised their family together. Though Susan held various jobs over the years, her greatest pride and deepest calling was raising her three children.

Susan had a gift for talking with people and trying to include everyone. In quieter moments, she could be found knitting, watching movies, or tending to her beloved daylilies. But she was never happier than when her grandchildren were near. She delighted in sparking their creativity and imagination and had a special talent for indulging their sweet teeth with her famous homemade milkshakes.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Randolph Holt; her children, Elizabeth Talbot Holt (Joey), John Randolph Holt (Shannon), and William Neal Holt (Gaayathri); and her five grandchildren, Jackson Randolph Holt, Cooper Moreman Holt, Evelyn Ann Holt, James Neal Hamilton, and Reva Simone Holt.

Susan Neal Holt will be dearly missed by all who knew her - but her love lives on in the children she raised, the grandchildren she cherished, and every small, sweet moment she made feel like something special.
