Joanna Helen Ramstack, age 71, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc. Born on November 20, 1952, in Waukesha, WI, Joanna was a cherished daughter of Robert and Gertrude Ramstack (nee Hennecke)
Warm-hearted and creative, Joanna found joy in the simple pleasures of life - from the pages of a good book to basket weaving to the intricate stitches of a quilt. In her free time, Joanna found joy in tending to her garden, particularly the vibrant tulips she cultivated with care. An animal lover at heart, Joanna found solace and companionship in her loyal canine friend, Jack, a miniature schnauzer/shih tzu, who became her constant companion and source of comfort in her final days.
Joanna's passion for education propelled her to obtain a Bachelor's Degree and become a teacher at Mt. Calvary, where she found immense joy in shaping young minds and nurturing the next generation. Her dedication to her students and unwavering commitment to her profession touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joanna is survived by her siblings Robert (Mary), Carol (Thomas) Meier, Thomas (Kathy), Marlene, David (Joanne) and Todd (Cathy); nieces Rachel, Paula, Colleen, Amber and Susan; nephews Jordan, Eric, Matthew and David; along with other family and friends.
Joanna is preceded in death by her parents and brother Edward.
Joanna's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at ProHealth, AngelsGrace Hospice, and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care during Joanna's final months and to all the nurses who came out to help her the last 4 months. They also extend a special thank you to Donald, Gail, and all those who provided support and love during Joanna's time of need.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and the American Heart Association in Joanna's name.
A visitation to celebrate Joanna's life will take place on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church (1941 Madison St, Waukesha, WI 53188) from 10:00am-11:30am with a service to follow.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Ramstack family. Joanna and I were close in age and I remember many good times on the Ramstack farm. Sometimes I would sleep over and the next day we would get up early and help aunt Gertrude make breakfast and clean up. I would follow Joanna as she then did her chores like feed the animals and collect chicken eggs. We also had fun jumping in the haystack and riding on the farm tractors. She was also in my wedding. Joanna was always so kind and always looked at the good in others. God bless you dear Joanna. Love your cousin Susie.
