Joanna B. (Barr) Trimble, 92, of Garden Spot Village, New Holland and formerly of Wakefield, entered into rest at her home on Thursday, February 1, 2024. Joanna and her husband, the late John J. (Jack) Trimble, were married for over 55 years until his death in December 2007. Joanna was born in Chrome, Chester County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Theo S. (Weaver) Barr and James Raymond Barr.
Joanna graduated from Goldey Commercial College, Wilmington, Delaware in February 1951 after successfully completing coursework in General Office Training. Jack and Joanna were married in December 1951. She was a member of Little Britain Presbyterian Church.
Joanna is survived by her four children: John R. and wife Liz of North Carolina, Judy L. and husband Mike of Virginia, Jill T. of Colorado, and Jeffrey S. of Pennsylvania. Joanna also has a sister-in-law, Jocelyn Barr and her daughter Sharon, both of Connecticut. A sister, Carol B. Deal and brother, Franklin W. Barr preceded her in death.
The family will hold a private service. Traditional interment will be in the Little Britain Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Joanna may make a contribution in her memory to Little Britain Presbyterian Church, 255 Little Britain Church Road, Peach Bottom, PA 17563 or Hospice & Community Care, Development Office, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601. The family has entrusted Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services in Quarryville, PA with the arrangements.
