Joanne Barfuss Obituary
Joanne was a graduate of Stout State University where she met Dennis Barfuss, her husband of 54 years. She taught kindergarten for several years in Addison, Illinois before starting a family. She was a resident of Naperville, Illinois since 1978, and, while raising her family, worked for many years as a teacher's aide and reading tutor in District 203 elementary schools.
Joanne was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, enjoyed reading, long walks, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, her sister Janet Spaletto, her sons Scott (Savannah) Barfuss and Erik (Miranda) Barfuss, and grandchildren Sheridan, Rodger, Graham, and Julian. Joanne was loving and kind and she will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
A visitation with the family will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1310 Shepherd Drive, Naperville, Illinois at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (formerly Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (Formerly JDRF)).
Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville, was entrusted with arrangements.
