Joanne Elizabeth "Jodie" Calvert, age 86, of Gravois Mills, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born July 18, 1935, in Russellville, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Clemons I. and Velma E. (Ward) Clark.
On August 29, 1954, in Columbia, Missouri, she was united in marriage to her surviving husband, William E. Calvert.
For many years, Jodie worked as a secretary for Hickman High School in Columbia.
Jodie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Columbia.
She was an avid bowler and a member of the Laurie Area Women's Bowling Association from 1980 to present. There, she served as past president and was the secretary for over twenty-five years.
In her younger years, Jodie enjoyed camping and going to derby's. She always looked forward to traveling with Bill. Together, they visited all but three of the fifty states.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by her daughters, Brenda Winscott of Columbia, Missouri, Cheryl York and husband Dale of Rocheport, Missouri, Sandy Bowerman of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Susan Sontag and husband Jim of Barnett, Missouri; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with two on the way; her sister, Jane McDevitt and husband Gary of Minneapolis, Minnesota and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Clark and sister, Judy Felt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8th, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel. Graveside services and interment will follow in Garber Memorial Estates. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel.
