Joanne Haff, 93, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. Jo was born and raised in Hanover, Kansas. After graduating High School, she attended Nursing School and became a Registered Nurse. Jo met her husband Lt. Kenneth Haff who was stationed at nearby Fort Riley and they married in July of 1955. They then moved to Ken’s hometown of Grand Rapids.
Jo began her career at St. Mary’s Hospital where she worked in labor and delivery for 15 years. After earning her Masters degree, she continued her calling by serving veterans at the MichiganVeterans home for 25 years where she worked as a nursing supervisor. Jo had a deep love for fishing, gardening and playing poker. She was a devoted member of St. Alphonsus church where she sang in the choir for many years.
Jo is preceded in death by her parents, sister Norma, brother Jim, husband Kenneth of 62 years and son Mark. Jo is survived by her children Kathleen Haff, Mary (Rich) Krulek and Tim (Ann) Haff, six grand children Daniel (Sarah), James Haff, Bradley (Mandi) Bradeen, Elyssa Peters, Mitchell Haff, Lauren Haff and 6 great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on October 28 at 11am.Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the mass service with lunch following mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to God’s kitchen.
