JoAnne P. Lundsgaard, 90, of
Cherokee, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Careage Hills Nursing Home in
Cherokee, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Cherokee, Iowa. Mr. Don Tisthammer will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at
Cherokee, Iowa. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home in

JoAnne was born on July 11, 1934 to Clarence and Haleria (Voss) Peterson at Cleghorn, Iowa. She graduated from Meriden High School. She was united in marriage on December 2, 1956 to Dennis Lundsgaard at Marcus, Iowa, together they had three sons, Michael, Timothy, and Steven.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in
Cherokee, Iowa. She was very active in the church, playing in the bell choir, working in the kitchen and serving on committees. She was also a member of T.T.T. and played in various card clubs.
She enjoyed playing the accordion, baking, playing cards, and having coffee with friends. She cherished spending time with her grandkids and attending their events. Her candy drawer was always stocked for the grandkids and the neighborhood children that would stop by.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dennis, two brothers Richard Peterson and Duane Peterson.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Lundsgaard of Los Angeles, California, Timothy (Joyce) Lundsgaard of
Cherokee, Iowa, and Steven (Mary) Lundsgaard of
Cherokee, Iowa; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Kyle (Molly) Lundsgaard and their sons, Rhett and Reed, Julie (Evan) Andresen and their children Nora and Nolan, Tyler (Michelle) Lundsgaard, and Jenna (Gus) Laursen; siblings Barb Anglin of Platteville, Colorado, Roger Peterson of Hartley, Iowa, and Diane Hein of Magalia, California.
