Joaquin Arredondo, 94, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 28, 2025, in
Roswell, New Mexico, surrounded by his family. Services for Joaquin will be held on Thursday. September 4, 2025, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. A viewing will begin at 9:00 AM, with a funeral service starting at 10:00 AM, and an internment to Hagerman Cemetery following services. On August 16, 1931, Joaquin was born to Domingo and Fermina Arredondo, in Sheffield, Texas, and was lovingly raised by Francisco and Carmen Carrasco in Hagerman, New Mexico. He had a servant's heart and that showed in his life-long career spent serving the youth as a custodian for Roswell Independent School District and also served as a skilled machinist at Smith Machinery Company for 25 years. The same heart showed in his devotion to serving the Lord as a deacon for Iglesia Bautista El Calvario, and in his membership of BYKOTA Baptist Church. Joaquin loved to travel and see new destinations, loved watching old westerns, and going to the casino. He was deeply loved by his friends and family, who will forever miss him. Those left to cherish precious memories of Joaquin are his children: Diana Doctor (Bob), Marsha González (Frank), and Joaquin Arredondo Jr.; his grandchildren: AC Estrada, Cándida Romero (Richard) Jerome Mayo, and Ludivina Gurulé (Jacob); great-grandchildren, Nathan Salcido (Amanda), Aalayah Hernandez (Izrraim), Larissa Estrada, Nayeli Estrada, Yasmeen Romero, Amaris Gurulé, Zoë Wakefield, and Mayela Gurulé; and great-great-grandchildren: Ofelia González and Amari (Joaquin Chiquito) Biel; and many loving nieces and nephews. Those waiting to welcome Joaquin with open arms are his wife, Mary Arredondo; son, Michael Arredondo; his parents: father, Domingo Arredondo, birth mother, Fermina Uribe, loving mother, Carmen Carrasco, and Francisco Carrasco; grandparents, Adolfo Arredondo and Salome Arredondo; siblings, Lupe Arredondo, Erineo Arredondo (Virginia), Enriqueta Franco (Ernesto), Luis Arredondo (Anita), Billy Arredondo (Edna), Genieva Berry (Jerry), Antonina Villalba (Manuel), Elodia Perez (Rafael), Vicenta Orona (Pedro), Maria Dominguez (Tomas) and Eufemia Salas (Florencio). Honored to carry Joaquin to his final resting place are Frank González, Richard Romero, Jacob Gurulé, Nathan Salcido, Jerome Mayo, Ryan Duran, Richard Gonzales, and Izrraim Hernandez. Joaquin's family would like to extend a special thank you to those who have visited, provided meals, shared stories, love and support along with the Joy Center (ADC) and Interim Home Health and Hospice of Roswell, for all the love and care that they have shown. In addition, we would like to extend a special thank you to his granddaughter, AC, for the many years she lovingly cared for him. We love you, always!
