Joaquin (Jack) Flores passed away on May 12, 2025, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Dad was 75 years old. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 21, 1950.
Joaquin was born on the Westside of San Antonio, where he attended Guadalupe Catholic Church and then attending Lanier High School for one year. During that year, Joaquin married his wife of 58 years, Amparo Sanchez Flores. They had known each other since they were 12 years old from the neighborhood. Joaquin and Amparo had 7 children, Armando, Augustin, Lupe, Mary, Joaquin Jr, Michael and Andrew Flores. Joaquin was also the proud grandparent of 29 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren at the time of his passing. He loved and was so proud of all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren because they brought him so much joy and love. Joaquin also became a surrogate father/teacher to the kids around Park South Village when they started a softball/baseball league there. He was a big fan of the Spurs, Cowboys and Astros. His biggest passion though was fishing.
Joaquin is survived by his wife, Amparo Flores. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustin and Anita Flores, grand-parents Don Joaquin & Maria Flores, aunts and uncles, Jovita Flores, Ramon Flores, Francisca Arriaza, Carlos & Mary Louise Quijano, Juan & Lee Flores, Nicho & Lupe De La Cruz, Manuel & Anita Hernandez, Magdelena & Guillermo Gonzales, Rudy & Gregoria Castillo, Vicente Hernandez, his brother-in-law Victor Hernandez, his sister Magdalena Flores and his younger brother Gilbert Flores, who he missed very much, along with cousins, Linda Marin, Roy Hernandez, Gloria Hernandez and Alfredo Arriaza. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Hernandez and brother Richard Flores.
Everyone from our family; numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends will miss him dearly.
