Joy grew up in the Houston area, where she would graduate from Aldine High School in 1986. In 2020, Joy would move to the Temple area to be closer to her family. She worked for KBR as a military contractor for several years, before transferring to Wilsonart for the past two years. Joy loved her job at Wilsonart and the many coworkers she grew close to. As much as Joy loved others, her devotion to her family was unmatched. Family was everything to Joy, and she was always there for them when they needed her. She always knew how to make every situation fun and exciting. Joy will be deeply missed by her many friends and family.
Joy was preceded in death by her father Thomas Tubbs.
Joy leaves behind to cherish her memory her son James Malone III of Temple, daughter Jackie Hallenbeck and husband Steven of Temple, mother Joyce Tubbs of Texarkana, brother Jason Tubbs of Spring, three grandchildren: Alice, Marius, and Amalee Hallenbeck all of Temple, and past sister-in-law Sara Clay.
A celebration of life for Joy will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10 o'clock a.m.
Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with these arrangements.
