John Cantwell Obituary
Known to friends as Jack Cantwell-Husband/Partner, Brother, Uncle, Lawyer & Friend died from complications of Acute Leukemia on September 4, 2025.
Born to John & Kathleen Cantwell in Oakland, California. Jack grew up in Walnut Creek, California attending Parkmead and Las Lomas High School. After taking a year off Jack attended Cabrillo College before transferring to the University of California in Berkeley.
He later attended JFK University School of Law and began practicing labor law in 1980 with his father in Walnut Creek. Jack was beloved and admired for his loyalty, honesty & ethics. He later retired in 2020.
Jack had a great sense of humor and enjoyed backpacking throughout the Sierra Nevadas with his family, vintage movies, jazz & traveling.
Jack is survived by his wife, Cindy, his brothers, Larry, Jim, Jim's wife Vikki and their children Clayton & Heather, his sister Jeanne & her partner Ron. Funeral Services will be private with a celebration of life to follow.
