Jodi Doty Obituary
Mrs. Doty was born January 15, 1958. She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and was a resident of Longview since 1980. Mrs. Doty was married to David Doty July 15, 1978, in Sioux Falls. She had worked for Pepsi Cola and Walmart, and later was store manager at McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, and later worked at AAON. She and David started an online store named Geological Wonders before her illness that prevented her from working. Mrs. Doty loved singing and playing the guitar with her family and friends and doing brain puzzles. She always had a positive attitude. She always said, "Don't worry, this too shall pass." She will be truly missed by her husband of 34 years and her family.
Mrs. Doty is survived by her husband, David Doty; her children, Alynda Hall and husband, Wayne, Justin Doty and wife, Maranda, and Suanne Doty; grandchildren, William DeCurtins, Alyssa DeCurtins, Hayden Doty and Erik Doty; siblings, Wendy Hays and husband, George, Heidi Loen and husband, Greg, Cindy Powell and husband, Mike, Dawn Schmitz and husband, Thomas, Lance Lunde and wife, Tracie, and Patty Songstad and husband, Rich.
Pallbearers will be Travis Alders, Paul Eyley, Craig Gadson, Jerry Hawley, Marty Opoka and James Weis.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. today, September 9, 2012, at the funeral home.

Thinking of you Joe, it´s 13 year now and there´s not a day that goes by without me remembering you. A lot has changed, some good, some bad, some that would make you sad. I know you are with the Lord and I hope to see you there one day. I am doing my best to follow Christ so I can, its not easy in this crazy world. Love you then, now, and forever.

My Dear Jodi,
It's so hard for me to imagine that you have been gone for a year now. I know you are with the lord and at peace. But Jodi, oh how I miss you so. There's not a day that goes by that you are not in my thoughts.
You were my loving wife and the mother of our children. We have all suffered a great loss. The emptiness at times brings me great sorrow, but then I see that wonderful smile and a sense of peace comes over me. Why, because I know you're watching over me and your words come softly into my head, this too shall pass… I Love you too.
I don't know why it was time for you to go and I may never understand. But know this my Jodi, I love you now, I loved you then, and I will always love you. No matter what I do or where I go, you will always be with me Joe, in my heart, until we are together again.

Dave and Family, I know this feels like it makes no sense. How could someone so beautiful and so loved be gone. I worked with Jodi several years ago at McDonalds and remember her well. She was a very kind person and a very hard worker. I loved saying "JODI DOTY" and she would just smile! Jodi's candle burned out far too quickly, but God chooses his Angels with love. He has added a very beautiful and caring person to his Kingdom.
