Jody Mark Charlie, a resident of Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on Tuesday, April 24, 1973, in Ville Platte, Jody will be remembered not only for his spirited presence but also for his deep appreciation for the simplicity and beauty of life.
Jody had a remarkable talent for fixing things, with a particular passion for cars and machinery. He had an enjoyment of the outdoors, where he could frequently be found fishing and hunting. He cherished these moments spent in nature, often bringing home wild game for the “Black Pot”, adding a personal touch to family gatherings that brought joy to those he loved.
He is survived by his daughters, Jodie Charlie Desormeaux (Jade) and Heather Nicole Charlie; his son, Cody Mark Charlie; and the mother of his children, Jeniffer Charlie. He also leaves behind his wife, Shannon Charlie; grandchildren, Jaden, Janie, Jonah, Kaylee, Neveah, Cornelius (affectionately known as Baby Cole), and Kinsleigh; sisters, Sandra Fontenot (Pat), Janice Charlie, Tanya Celestine (Gary) as well as his brothers, Ricky Charlie (Crystal), and Greger Charlie.
Jody was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Yvonne Soileau Charlie and his brothers, Danny Charlie and Timothy "Timmy" Charlie.
Jody Mark Charlie’s love for life and the people around him will be deeply missed. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an unparalleled spirit of adventure.
