It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marshall “Marty” Joseph Vizinat, who departed this world on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the age of 57. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte  from 2:00 PM until 5:30PM followed by a Funeral Service at 5:30 PM.

Born on September 23, 1968, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, Marty was a dedicated husband, a loving father, son, brother and Pop. He was also a devoted veteran who embraced all life had to offer with a passion that was uniquely his own.

Marty lived his life vividly and boldly. He was a multifaceted man who wore many hats and chased countless dreams. As an Over the Road Truck Driver, he traveled the highways, traversing landscapes that mirrored the vast array of music that played in his heart. A music aficionado, Marty, reveled in the energetic chords of metal and cherished the haunting melodies of classical compositions. His soul thrived in the communal joy of live music events, unearthing memories beneath the twinkling lights.

Marty’s adventurous spirit extended far beyond the roaring highways and concert halls; he was an avid outdoorsman and a dedicated gun collector, savoring the quiet serenity of nature and the thrill of the chase. His explorations were not only physical but culinary; as a classically trained chef, he took immense joy in diving into diverse foods and cultures, each meal a new journey, each recipe a story waiting to be told.

In addition to his many passions, Marty served his country with pride in the United States Army's 2nd Bravo Infantry Company. The honor of his service mirrored his commitment to helping others, clear in his generous nature and empathy for those less fortunate. He was a firm believer in uplifting those around him and devoted himself to acts of kindness, always ready to lend a hand.

Marty also found joy in the realms of entertainment, delighting in horror movies, the timeless comedy of the Three Stooges, the gripping narratives of *The Walking Dead, * and the rugged journeys depicted in Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Westerns. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, as was his desire to learn and explore new horizons.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 31 years, Cheryl Vizinat; son Joey Vizinat and his wife, Alexa Rivera Pacheco Vizinat; daughter Madison Vizinat; step-son Spencer Pommier; step-daughter, Courtney Pommier and wife Jessica Trahan; grandson, Cesar Lee “CJ” Vizinat aka Weebie; his father, Randy Vizinat; and brothers, Kirk Vizinat and wife, Stacey Vizinat; and Chad Vizinat, of whom will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Marty was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Vizinat.

Though he is no longer with us, he will continue to live on in the hearts of those who cherished him, as a beacon of generosity, love, and exuberance for all that life offers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte.
