Jody Globash Obituary
Jody is survived by her two children, James Andersen (Libby) and Janna Unger (John), both of Frankfort. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Jay (Jordan), Eric (Shelby), Leesa (Daniel-maker of the best biscuits), and Robert (Sarah), the family's expert griller. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Kash, JT, Sam, Ruby E., Lucy, and Evan. Her grand-dogs-Bruno, Lloyd, Bertie, and Bogey-were also dear to her heart.
Jody, along with her late sister Diana Looney, was an extremely engaged citizen of Frankfort and a committed advocate for open and transparent government. Together, they spent countless hours attending meetings and working tirelessly on local community issues.
A lifelong lover of animals, Jody adored every neighborhood dog, often greeting them with treats from her pocket. She encouraged everyone she met to "adopt that dog" and cherished the joy pets bring. In her later years, her beloved JoJo, adopted from New Leash on Life, was her faithful companion and always by her side.
Jody will be remembered as a bit of a feisty spitfire-known for her passionate rants about politics, UK basketball, and tennis.
A celebration of Jody's life will be held on Friday, December 5, from 5–7 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene Fellowship Hall, 124 Myrtle Avenue, Frankfort, KY 40601.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Life House for Animals and/or the Franklin County Humane Society, honoring Jody's lifelong love for animals.
Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory.
