ROGERS AR - In Loving Memory of Joe Byron Abbott

March 7, 1945-September 18, 2025

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joe Byron Abbott, a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, loyal friend, and remarkable man, who left this world on September 18, 2025, at the age of 80.

Joe was born in Odessa, Texas, March 7, 1945. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1963 and studied at Odessa College. Joe is preceded in death by his parents: Oscar Byron and Wenona Abbott, his sister: Brenda Galbreth, and his son: John Byron Abbott. He is survived by his wife: Viki Abbott, his children: Sunny Abbott Benally, Laura Abbott, Dawn Christine Mann, and Heather Wilson (Roy), and 9 grandchildren.

Joe shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife Viki. They met in 1989 and wed on August 8, 2002. They were happily married for 23 years. Their marriage was built on mutual respect, deep friendship, and long-lasting love.

As a father, Joe was completely devoted to his children. He was encouraging, supportive, generous, and kind. He was the person you could always count on and the rock of the family.

Joe began his professional career at Arco where he worked for 20 years. Soon after he acquired M&M Sales and Equipment where he ran a successful company until he retired. He was known for his hard work, leadership, and commitment to others.

Joe will be remembered for his generosity and kindness. Whether it was mentoring employees at work, encouraging others to continue their education, or just lending a helping hand when someone was in need, he truly made a difference in people's lives.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held at La Bodega on October 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.

Joe will be deeply missed. His memory will forever be a blessing.

I will forevermore have Joe in my memories especially the wonderful conversations we were able to have over all the many years. A wonderful man who loved his family and who was loved back. My heart breaks for the family but I know that the dear memories of all he was will continue to carry his loved ones on.
Vicki, I am so thankful for all of your years of deep connection and love between you and Joe! You are most deserving of those years and please always remember how much you mean to everyone.

He was a jovial, easy going fellow. Well loved by his family. This is the highest praise I can sing of him, and what high praise it is. May he rest well, and be at peace.

I´m sorry Vickie for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. I only got to know Joe only one day. That day was a blessing to me to at least get to know him in that little bit of time. It was also great to get to know you as well Vickie and your beautiful family.
