Joe Carroll

Joe Michael Carroll, 77, of Somerset, passed from this life unexpectedly on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Joe was born on July 7, 1948, in Shopville, Kentucky, son of the late Shirley Harper Carroll-Anderson and Bill Anderson. Joe was a graduate of Somerset High School and began an impressive career as a Somerset Police Officer serving the Somerset Community for over 20 years. He was a dedicated, professional and compassionate officer. After his retirement from the Somerset Police Department, he was a Courier at the Cumberland Security Bank for a number of years. Joe was an avid sports fan, watching UK Basketball, the Green Bay Packers and the New York Yankees faithfully. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching old movies. He was of the Baptist Faith and attended the West Somerset Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother; Roger Carroll, and several brother and sisters-in law.

Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife; Brigitte Brim Carroll of Somerset, three sons; Clay Carroll of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Brian Carroll of Somerset, Kentucky and Daniel (Hana) Carroll of Seymour, Tennessee, a daughter; Katrina (Damon) Cox of Somerset, Kentucky, one brother; Monroe (Sylvia) Carroll of Science Hill, Kentucky, two sisters; Willene Jones of Somerset, Kentucky and Glenda (Karl) Murden of Maumee, Ohio, eight grandchildren; Elizabeth Carroll, Noah Patrick, Jordan Carroll, Kailee Meeks, Rhegan Iskerka, Liam Carroll, Achilles Carroll, and Madison Carroll, four great-grandchildren and two others, due to arrive later this year. He is also survived by brother & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory. A

Celebration of Life Service will be at 2:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
