Joe Gomez Obituary
He started working in the local rubber plant in California and later took a job as a forklift operator, which relocated him to the Fredericksburg area. He retired as a custodian for Ferry Farm Elementary.
Joe is survived by his four children, Raymond Gomez (Kristina), Robert Gomez (Maggie), Mary 'Peggy' Gomez and Ben Gomez (Chuck); four grandchildren Samantha Gomez, Amanda Gomez, McKayla Gomez and Rebecca Gomez; four great grandchildren; and four sisters Lucy Butler (Ron), Olivia Avalos, Linda Garcia (Jesse) and Kathy Almeida.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Linda L. Gomez; his parents, Carmen Almeida and Jose Gomez; and brother William Almeida.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
