Joe Tom “Jody” Glover III, 71, of Amarillo, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1100 S. Harrison. Interment will be at the Columbarium at the church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Jody was born to Joe Tom Jr. and Marilyn Glover on May 11, 1953. He grew up in Amarillo, graduated from Tascosa High School, and was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church. Jody worked with his father doing many jobs including farming and construction projects. He served at the church by going on a mission trip to Kenya and a mission trip to New Orleans. He was a long time member of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast and a long-time member of his Sunday school. Later in life he began volunteer work delivering meals-on-wheels, serving at the Senior Citizens facility, and volunteering at Ware. His hobbies were hunting quail at his farm. exercising at the YMCA, and reading magazines and books of all variety of topics. More recently in his life, he was a member of the Agape Center where he had many friends.
Jody was a beloved son, brother and brother-in-law, uncle and friend to members of his family and church family.
Jody is survived by his sister, Julie McCracken and husband Dan, a nephew, Bryan McCracken and wife Marjorie, and nieces, Molly White and husband Ross and Katy Pair and husband Steve. Also included are great-nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank the care-givers at Ruby Slippers, the nurses at Hillside Heights Skilled Rehab, the nurses at Long Term Acute Care on Research St. and the nurses at BSA Hospice of the Southwest for the loving support and care that Jody received.
