Joe Leko

Joey passed away on April 10th, 2025Joe (Joey) Leko, 68, passed away April 10, 2025 at his home in Milford, UT. He was born May 29, 1956 in North Hollywood, California to Nick and Lillian Leko. He grew up in Woodland Hills, California until he was 11. He then moved to Milford, UT where he attended and graduated from Milford High School. He married his love, Jolyn Leko, on February 24, 1979. They had two children and made their home in Milford.
He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years after which he and his brother took over the family farm, Green Diamond Ranch, and continued running it until his passing. He loved to hunt, fish, and be in the mountains, but what he loved most was being with his favorite people. Grandpa Joey was his favorite name and so many viewed him as Uncle Joey. Joey was loyal to the people he loved and once he brought you into his circle, you were in for life. He had countless hunting and fishing adventures and loved to share his stories with all. Alaska held his favorite rivers, Lake Powell was his favorite lake and chasing lions was his favorite game. He would cook anything for you. All you had to do was ask. It didn't matter what it was. He could whip it up. Joey was the best cook.
He is survived by his spouse, Jolyn Leko; children, Kaden (Stephanie) Leko, Kandi (Dustin) Kesler; Grandchildren, Kason, Slade and Aiden; Siblings Jenelle (Paul) Gillispie, Nick Leko. He was preceded in death by his parents Nick and Lillian Leko.
A viewing will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 from 2:00-3:30pm at Southern Utah Mortuary in Milford, UT (209 South 100 West). Graveside services will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 4:00pm at the Milford Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at his house following the interment (4950 South 800 West).
