Thomas was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. A son, brother, uncle and friend to many. A dedicated veteran, compassionate chiropractor and healer, and devoted community member, passed away on March 23, 2025 with his wife by his side.
His life was a testament to service, creativity, and faith, touching the lives of many along the way.
Born in Jefferson Iowa son to Barbara D Hacking and Gilbert McGinn, Tom grew up being involved in many activities, embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with others. Thomas graduated from Milford High School before embarking on a lifetime of learning and service. He studied at Weber State University, Southern Utah University, and Palmer College of Chiropractic – West Campus, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1986.
Thomas's life was defined by his service to his country and community. As a combat medic and special operations medic during the Vietnam War, he cared for his fellow soldiers with skill and compassion. He continued his service with the United States Army Reserve as an egress/ejection seat specialist on F-4 Phantom II aircraft at Hill Air Force Base. In 1983, he invented and designed the flightline fire extinguisher for the U.S. Air Force, a life-saving device still in use today at military and civilian airports around the world. In addition to his military and medical careers, he worked as a telegrapher agent for Union Pacific Railroad and served as an assayer/manager for Copper King Mining Company. His diverse talents and relentless work ethic left a lasting impression in every field he pursued.
His commitment to veterans extended far beyond his military service. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 16 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, holding numerous leadership roles, including Commander, District Vice Commander, and Area Commander. He was a huge supporter of his fellow military and veterans, always stopping to thank them and honor their service. Whether organizing parades, performing funeral services, or handling administrative duties, his heart was always with his fellow servicemen and women.
Thomas was a healer. Coming from a long line of chiropractors, following in the footsteps of his family's legacy of care and compassion. He was deeply dedicated to learning and mastering the Activator Method of chiropractic. Through his practice, he served countless individuals on their journeys to health and wellness, offering not just physical relief but also kindness, understanding, and hope. His hands brought comfort and healing to so many, and his wisdom and compassion created a space of trust and care for every patient who walked through his door for 36 years.
In addition to his medical career, Thomas was a man of remarkable creativity and artistic talent. He was always creating unique and intricate drawings and art projects, with a brilliance that touched the lives of many. His mind was a wellspring of ideas and imagination, constantly crafting something new and meaningful.
Above all and through it all, his greatest love was his sweet wife, Adele. He fell in love with her in kindergarten and stayed by her side, married 54 years, a love story that spanned decades. Their bond was unbreakable, built on a lifetime of devotion, deep love and unwavering support.
He was incredibly proud of his family, never missing a chance to boast about them from the rooftops, sharing their achievements and lives with pride and love. He was a very proud dad, and being a father was a cherished part of his life. He and Adele loved traveling to visit each of their kids, embracing the chance to spend time with them and their families. He took great joy in experiencing their worlds, creating memories together, and always looked forward to the next visit.
Tom was also a proud and loving grandpa, affectionately known as "Papa." He took great joy in celebrating his grandchildren's achievements and talents, always eager to share their successes with others. He cherished each of them deeply and treasured every moment spent together, creating lifetime memories.
Thomas was deeply spiritual. He held a close relationship with God and the Father, finding strength and guidance in his faith. His belief was freely shared with others as cornerstone of his life, shaping his actions, compassion, and the unwavering love he extended to those around him.
Thomas will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, friends, and country. He lived a life of service, compassion, and strength. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.
Thomas is survived by his beloved wife, Adele, son Shaun McGinn (Krista McGinn) and their three daughters Mariah Wallace (Nicholas Wallace) children Matthew and Penelope, Brandelle Erickson (Codey Erickson), Shantel McGinn. Eldest daughter Anne Griffiths (Brandon Griffiths) and their two sons Riley Griffiths (Hannah Hall) Jade Griffiths. Youngest daughter Tiffany Burke and her two daughters Adelyn Burke and Autumn Burke. Preceded in death by his father Gilbert McGinn, mother Barbara Hacking, brother Michael McGinn, and brother Paul McGinn.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 29th, 2025 at St. Bridget Catholic Church (210 S 100 W St, Milford, UT 84751). A viewing will be held from 9:00 am-10:30 am and the funeral service will start at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at the EMS building. Online condolences may be shared at www.mortuary.org.
As there will not be a graveside service at this time, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly welcomes donations for the future burial service and/or life transitions. Contributions can be made to Adele McGinn or through Venmo @Adele-McGinn.
Your kindness and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
His family and friends will forever hold him close in their hearts, honoring his life, service, and love.

Brother Tom..
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet you again,
May God hold You in the palm of His hand.

I still recall so fondly the day you and I met standing in the Cedar City WalMart those years ago. You were one of the very best. I will miss our long talks my friend. You are flying high now with the angels and our brothers who have gone on before. I love you brother.
