Joe Weldon Moore, 92, was born January 11, 1933 to Joe Weldon (Bubb) Barron and Juanita (Randel) Barron in Burkburnett, TX. He departed his earthly home in Fort Davis, TX quietly; peacefully sleeping with Janiece by his side at 3:30 am on April 4, 2025.

Joe graduated Class of 1952 from Denver City, TX. He served in the US Air Force as a jet engine mechanic from 1953-56. His GI bill was spent at Sul Ross State University graduating with both Bachelors and Masters degrees along with his private pilots license. The next few years saw him teaching math and science in Iraan and Fort Stockton. His family with his British bride grew by three children. The flying dream took hold for good with the family moving to Pecos where he flew spray planes and set up his business, Trans Pecos Aviation. Joe was an aviator inside and out holding ratings as mechanic, pilot, commercial pilot and flight instructor as well as industry leading aircraft sales. Joe's purpose ~ teaching and his passion ~ aviation combined when he became a certified flight instructor. Together, in 1978-83 they operated Airmarc Aviation at Schlemeyer Field in Odessa. Joe and Janiece "retired" to Fort Davis in 1983 building Butterfield's and Applejack's as well as several homes in the area. By 1990 the Presidio County Airport at Marfa beckoned and they were there until they "really" retired in 2005. In May 2021, Joe received his 60-year Master Mason's certificate from the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas. Joe's final decades were spent telling stories and reminiscing for countless hours on the phone with the many lifelong friends he had.

Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Sally (Culp) and James Randel, paternal grandparents Bernice (Fowler) and John Barron, step-paternal grandparents Willie (Bright) and James Moore, father J W (Bubb) Barron, step-father Perry L Moore, mother Juanita (Randel) Moore, sister Rita (Moore) Louis, brother Jerry R Moore and son Jim Dan Moore.
