Joe Pastrano Jr., 73 years of age, was called home to the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, April 8th, 2024. Mr. Pastrano was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and he was cherished by many in the community. Joe was born in Lockhart, Texas, on April 28th, 1950, to his parents, Joe B. Pastrano and Guadalupe Franco Pastrano. He attended Beeville High School in 1970 and later received his GED at Alice High School in 1980. Joe worked for over 20 years at Krogers in the produce department, 20 years as a driver at Coors Light & Schaefer company, and 20 years for Jam & Coastal Chemicals as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing on his boat, hunting, his horses, spending time with his kids, grandkids, and especially his great grandson. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Able Pastrano and David Pastrano; and his father-in-law, Carlos Muñoz.
Joe is survived by his wife, Carrie Muñoz Pastrano, of 55 years of marriage, both of whom are members of the St. Francis De Paula Church in San Diego, Texas; his sons are Joe (Norma) Pastrano of San Antonio, Texas, and Dwayne († Anna Marie) Pastrano of San Diego, Texas. His sisters-in-law is Leticia (Joel) Garcia, Lucy Pastrano, Naomi Pastrano; his siblings are Blondie (Snow) Moreno of Beeville, Texas, Eddie (Patsy) Pastrano of San Marcos, Texas, and Jaime Pastrano of Denver, Colorado; his grandsons are Tyler (Gabby) Pastrano, Nathan Pastrano, and Justin Pastrano, and his granddaughter is Bailey (Doroteo Jr.) Ramirez; and, his great grandchildren are Laiden Pastrano, Jaiden Valerío, and Leyah Trevíno, and his future great grandchild, Doroteo the III. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas. Interment will follow at San Diego Cemetery II in San Diego, Texas.
