Joe Lynn Payne of Payne Rd., Kaw City, OK, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at his home. Joe was born September 28, 1949, at the Dozier Clinic in Shidler, OK, to Holton and Jane Payne.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family in attendance from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Miller Stahl Funeral home in Newkirk, OK. The family has asked memorial donations to be made to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in lieu of flowers.
Joe attended grades 1-4, along with brothers Harvey and Bob in the two-room schoolhouse known as Consolidated 106. In the 5th grade Joe transferred to Shidler and graduated High School in 1967. After graduation Joe attended Panhandle State University. In 1970 Joe joined the National Guards, receiving an honorable discharge in 1976.
Joe helped run the family ranch East of Newkirk. In 1993 he started Century Livestock Feeders in the barn at his house and later moved the business to Shidler. He ran the business until retirement in 2015. After retirement Joe enjoyed living life on his ranch. He enjoyed clearing trees with his loader, spraying weeds out of his buggy year-round, and fluffing hay with his tractor.
Joe was proceeded in death by his father Holton Payne and daughter-in-law Valerie Payne.
Joe is survived by his mother Jane Payne of her home, brothers: Harvey (Lisa), Bob (Deborah), John (Judy) and Al (Pam); children: Aron, Rebecca (Matt) Sniffin, Abe (Rusti), grandchildren: Hunter (Cody) Vap, Luke (Cassidy), Tucker, Kailey, Kyle and Ella Sniffin, Marshall, Riggin & Ruby; great-grandchildren: Olivia & Sophia Vap, Colter and Remi Payne; step-children: Jay Paul (Glacia) Fagan & Scarlett Collins; step- grandchildren: Colton Fagan, Jay & Dakota Collins; Special friend Marcia Nida.
