Joe B. Raley, 83, of Abilene passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m. at the Second Chance Cowboy Church. Joe was born March 8, 1942, in Brownfield, Texas to Marshall and Telva (Jenkins) Raley. He graduated high school in Artesia, New Mexico and attended Midwestern State University. He later served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a welder in Wyoming for 40 years until moving to Duran, New Mexico and then finally retiring to Abilene, where he was a member of Second Chance Cowboy Church. He is survived by his partner of 18 years, Janice Carper Bonds; one son, Aaron Raley and wife Hope; four daughters, Kathryn Raley of Lafayette, Colorado, Kayla Raley of Southampton, United Kingdom, Lindsey Stawarczik of Abilene and Amy Reid of Dewey, Oklahoma; one brother, John Raley and wife Robin Benton of Plano; and seven grandchildren, Braiden Reid, Tate Reid, Madison Stawarczik, Morgan Stawarczik, Philip Chen, Nathan Chen, and Sonora Raley.
