On August 29th,1947, Joe Soliz was born to Ramon and Cerilia Soliz in Santa Rita N.M.
He always reminded us that God comes first, and family follows right behind, and he lived every day by that truth. Born with an incredible work ethic and a talent for anything he put his mind and hands to, Papo was truly one of a kind. A gifted and amazing guitar player, he filled homes and hearts with music. He served in the United States Navy from September 24, 1965, to September 16th, 1969, and was then transferred to the U.S. Naval Reserves. Joe received his associates degree at Eastern. He built a lifetime of skill and service as a social worker, truck driver, vacuum and sewing-machine repairman, managed Pizza Hut locations, owned and operated a landscaping business, and proudly owned and operated the locally well-known Burrito Loco from 1989 to 2004.
Papo took great pride in yard work, loved to go fishing, and enjoyed nothing more than sitting on his porch talking with family and friends. He was always tinkering in his shed-always creating, always learning-never without a story, a laugh, or a song. His spirit was larger than life, and his humor and confidence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. They truly broke the mold with him.
We are endlessly grateful for every memory, every laugh, every song, and every lesson he gave us. His presence will always be felt in our hearts.
Rest easy, Papo. You fought the good fight. We will carry your legacy with pride and love-always. 444 #SolizStrong!
