A graveside service to honor Joe Don Stanley, 87, of Cleburne, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in Rio Vista Cemetery, with Pastor Jacky Mears officiating. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Joe passed away on December 4, 2024, in Alvarado. Born on August 24, 1937, in Tahoka, Texas, Joe was a devoted family man and a person of cheerful disposition, known for his warm smile and friendly nature. A member of the Baptist faith, Joe married Jackie Ruth Beck on August 17, 1962, in Cleburne. His professional life was dedicated to farming, where he cultivated not only the land but also lasting relationships with his family and community. Joe cherished moments spent fishing and sharing laughter with his loved ones. Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
He is survived by his children: Kay Miracle and husband Johnny, Vicki Howard and husband Ricky, Gary Don Stanley and wife Shirley, Kathy Williams and husband Gary, Donna Stanley, and Darla Squyres and husband Randy. Joe's legacy continues through his granddaughters, Amanda Montgomery, Misty Tucker, Brandy Embry, Catherine Dominguez, Andyssey Pollard, Alonnah Pollard, and Kaitlyn Chapman, and as well as his grandsons, Cody Miracle, Ricky Joe Howard, Tim Howard, Billy Stanley, Christopher Stanley, Joe Don Stanley, Blume Chapman, and Peyton Squyres. Joe is also remembered by his brother, Jimmy Stanley, and was loved by 27 great-grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Ruth Stanley; his beloved wife, Jackie Stanley; and his siblings, R.C. Stanley, Horton Stanley, Jessie Gent, Orabelle Quattlebaum, and Patsy Dixon.
