Durant, OK- Joe Tinkler II, 57, passed from this life on Monday, April 28th, 2025 in Sherman, Texas. Joe was born on Sunday, December 31st, 1967 in Durant, Oklahoma to Joseph Richard Tinkler and Diane Ruby Harris.
Joe grew up and attended school in Durant. While in high school he loved playing football for the Lions. He was also in show choir and loved to sing and dance. Joe worked in several jobs including an elevator installer and installed all types of flooring for many years.
Joe enjoyed going to the lake and playing volleyball, fishing and loved talking about how proud he was of his kids and grandkids. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Joe was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Abundant Life Temple in Durant growing up.
Joe was preceded in death by his dad, Joseph Tinkler, his sister, Bonnie Miller, and his grandparents, Joseph Tinkler and Bonnie Tinkler Tune.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Jones of Texarkana, Texas; his son, Joseph Tinkler of Durant, Oklahoma; his brother, Kevin O'Connell of Teague, Texas; his sister, Kellie Kennedy of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Casey Tinkler of Durant; his grandbabies Wesley Yarbrough, Jaycee Jones, Jaxon Tubby, and Gabriel Tinkler and several aunts, uncles, and other family members.
Funeral services to celebrate Joe's life will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 8th, at Brown's Funeral Chapel with Pastor Joe Beshirs officiating. Interment services will follow at Mead Cemetery with Joseph Tinkler, Casey Tinkler, Dustin Taylor, Jeff Smith, Robert Davenport, Mike Edelen, Rome Tubby, Jeremy Gibson, and Mark Miller serving as pallbearers.
Joe's family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 7th, from 6-8 PM at Brown's Funeral Home.
Joe was not only a father and dear friend to many. He was someone who tried his best to make a difference in life. Every time he spoke, it was to teach others respect and morals. He never met a stranger, never judged and he would help anybody. He also loved the Lord and wanted everyone to know that there is always another way!
