Louie Uria, 93, of Homedale, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at home of natural causes.
Dad was born July 19, 1929 in Jordan Valley, Oregon, the son of Joe and Evelyn Uria.
He married Beverly Milby on October 19, 1953 in Homedale, ID. Dad started working at Owyhee Motor Sales (Matteson's) in 1970 when we came to Homedale. He worked until 2003 when he retired.
Dad was always involved in the Owyhee County Rodeo selling programs, tickets, stamping hands and helping wherever needed. Dad loved our town and was involved in all that he could be.
Dad is survived by his son, Joe (Connie) of Redding, Cal., his daughters, Kathy Nylander (Chuck) and Kris Hotchkiss (Ken) both of Homedale, ID. Dad's grandkids Alex (Amanda) Smith, Jeff (Jenny) Rudd, Kaleb (Kimi) Hotchkiss, Sarah (Jeremy) Rule, Jaimee Hotchkiss (Raymond), Adam Hotchkiss and his great-grandchildren, Cameron Smith, Zane and Calvin Rudd, Kegan and Keyleigh Hotchkiss, Charlotte, Augustus and Everly Rochester. Dad is also survived by his brother Floyd (Blanche), and sisters Dorothy, Violet, Joyce, Margaret (Jerry), Vivian (Dick) and sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nephews and nieces.
Dad is preceded in death by mom, Beverly, and brothers Victor and Edward, and one sister Julia.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. A dinner will follow the services at Txoko Ona Basque Center in Homedale.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Homedale Ambulance or Txoko Ona Basque Center.
