Joe White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. on Feb. 3, 2026.
Joseph Wayne White passed away at Clovis Hospital on January 31, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Even in his final days, Joe remained unmistakably Joe-steadfast in his faith, quick with a joke, and deeply grateful for the life he had been given. He never stopped expressing his love for his family and friends, and he met each day with humor, humility, and grace.

Services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, 10:00 AM at Way Point Christian Church, 1401 E. Llano Estacado Blvd. Clovis, NM. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens 1601 E. Llano Estacado Blvd.

Joe was born on February 16, 1945, to Gloria and Ken White Sr. He lived a life so full, adventurous, and varied that many would say he lived twenty different lives in one lifetime. He proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division, the legendary "Screaming Eagles." That same courage and determination carried through every chapter of his life. Joe was an award-winning rodeo bronc rider, a gifted and respected cattleman, and a passionate entrepreneur with a sharp mind and an unmatched work ethic.

More than anything, Joe loved people. He welcomed everyone with an open heart, offering kindness, forgiveness, and acceptance without judgment. His faith in Christ guided his life, but it was his actions-his generosity, compassion, and quiet service-that truly reflected it. Joe had an incredible sense of humor and a razor-sharp wit, and he loved nothing more than laughing at himself and making others laugh along with him. Being around Joe meant leaving with a smile, a story, or both.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Gloria and Ken White, and his sister, Margaret Julia Gaffield. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay White; his children, Julia Vickery, Ashlea White, Brandon White, Robin Fogerty, and Robby Lamb; his grandchildren, Benton and Railey Vickery, Jordyn and Madison White, and Brooklyn and Chase Lamb; his siblings, Judith Page, Kenneth White Jr., and Charla Coleman; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Joe's life left a mark on everyone he met. His legacy of faith, love, generosity, and unforgettable humor lives on in the countless stories shared, the laughter he sparked, and the people he embraced so fully.

Grew up with Joe and his sister Debbie - he was a few years younger than me but he was always the life of the party. His Mother helped my Mom get through polio. The entire family was top notch. Can't believe he's gone. I'm blessed I have so many good memories of Joe & family

Never had a bad deal with Joe, and traded thousands of cattle. He was a very good friend, and we always had a lot of laughs. He was a born entertainer! He had a great outlook on life! I´ll miss you Joe! Randy Roberts
