It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph, Joey, Joe Yule, age 61. He was born on January 2, 1961 and died on October 13, 2022. He was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed.
Joe grew up in Colorado and always had a passion for the outdoors; skiing, hiking, fishing even working at Winter Park and Monarch ski areas. Joe moved to California in the mid-eighties where he found his true home. His life there was filled with genuine friendships, mega cycling, amazing graphic design, chocolate Labradors, major injuries, and miraculous recoveries. He was happiest living by the ocean, telling stories that tried to capture the way that cycling and the truly important things in life intersect.
Joe left behind his best friend/dog Zane, an army of friends in the South Bay, his mother Bobbe Yule, brother Scott Yule (Karen McDonough), sister Donna Boyle (John Boyle), and nieces Kelsie Boyle (Judd Dew) and Sydney Galligan (Kyle Galligan). He was a devoted son, brother, friend, and proud uncle.
A private family service will be held in Colorado in the spring.
Saturday, November 12th has been designated Joe Yule Day in Los Angles, South Bay. An organized memorial tribute will take place starting with a 32-mile bike ride at 7:30 leaving from the Starbucks Manhattan. (Across from the Kettle) Highlights of the ride include, Catalina Coffee, Flog Loop, Donut Route, a Joe Yule Shout Out at Trump National, Ganado Drive, ending at the Domes of PV. Following the ride from 3 – 6 pm join as we celebrate Joe at Hennessy's on Hermosa Pier. All are welcome to join. Wear a Yule design kit, smile and be patient! Contributions in honor of Joe can be made to the Go Fund Me Page for Zane's return to good health: https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-joe-yule-returning-zane-to-health?utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer or to Building Hope Summit County, offering mental and emotional health support for everyone in Summit County: https://buildinghopesummit.networkforgood.com/projects/173976-joseph-yule-memorial-fundraising-page.
He loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that Joe is now at peace surrounded by light.

Hard to comprehend that Joe has passed. An Extremely gifted and talented Gentleman, with a Heart of gold.
I first met and worked with Joe in 77 at Fairway Sports. Englewood, Co. We both were into Custom paint on Vehicles.
We teamed up to paint hundreds of dealership customs. We also painted his Candy Blue Mustang. We both landed in Southern California, Joe in the South Bay. Myself in the Valley early eighties.
Joe was huge in The Graphics Business. Opened a gorgeous facility in San Pedro.
Joe brought me one of his first cycles to paint, expressing his desire of riding out in the Bay area and beyond.
As most of us know Joe suffered greatly through so many cycling accidents . We joked often that he had 9 lives of the cat.
But nothing would keep him off the bike until his later days, when he took a period of time to hike the west coast with his beloved Zane,a chocolate Lab.
Joe posted so many photos, doodles, sort stories, that many of us pushed him to write a book of his Adventures with Zane by his side.
Not sure what happened in the last 18 months.
Joe was just the coolest individual, so giving and caring to many.
My Heartfelt Condolences for Bobbie, Donna and family, plus his hundreds of cycling brothers and Sisters.
Love and so many Memories...RIP
